Andrew Steer
President and Chief Executive Officer, World Resources Institute (WRI)
Dr. Andrew Steer is the President and CEO of the World Resources Institute. He has three decades of experience in international development, including on the front line in Asia and Africa, with previous senior posts at the World Bank and the UK government’s Department of International Development. Most recently he was the Bank’s Special Envoy for Climate Change. He was educated at St. Andrews University, Scotland, the University of Pennsylvania, and at Cambridge University. He has a PhD in Economics, has written widely on sustainable development issues, and has taught at several universities.
